Cerious Performance CF SCT hood.

These are pictures of Cerious Performance’s Carbon Fiber SCT hood. I really like the hood and the company has great customer service. The hood is a nice quality and I am happy that Cerious Performance decided to pursue a Grand Am project.

There is another pre-order for the SCT carbon fiber hood and SD style carbon fiber hood. Production for these hoods is estimated to be completed by late January/ early February.

Now what I think would look cool is to have Sik hook you up w/ a c.f. decklid & then paint the hood & decklid leaving carbon fiber racing stripes on both:)

why?? :cry: I like it because it kinda matches w/ my front bumper. But if I did paint it, I would have to see what design to use. I would do something like RK sport did. Leave the nostril part CF and the rest painted.

i agree with tido, it looks hot the way it is - painting it is totally optional and not even close to being necessary, see it even looks good on silver without any black ground effects

I agree, needs painted. Maybe let a little show like cf racing stripes or some other unique pattern. But then again, I'm 34 & know where cf came from & what the real purpose of it is. The newer generation uses it differently, so it seems odd to me to see it unpainted on an everyday, fwd street car.

Or just paint the flat surface of the hood on the outter edges of the scoops and leave the entire center carbon fiber. Give it a little more shape to it.

I know it is meant to reduce weight and I guess make it easier to replace a part.

It would be pointless to reduce weight on the front of of a FWD car but its for looks. A grand am is not the best choice for a fast car so I stick to looks at the moment. And I like the look of a CF hood... that and no money to paint it. hahhaha

I think the hoods look really sporty the way they are. I also think the spoilers should match the hoods. Who cares if people think they should be painted because the hoods are hot painted or unpainted. I have a silver GA with a painted hood and I would love to get a carbon fiber hood.

I guess it's a matter of taste.... the "black" hood on the red car just looks funny. But it does cost $$ to paint. Do whatcha want. Your car is cool either way. :)

the hood looks good, but yea it does go with the black on ur front bumper. if ur car was ALL red then id paint it. i have made a photoshop of what u mean John it doesnt look too bad :) it'll be a couple month b4 i get it so i'll have enough time to think about it :)

i think if you filled that gap on the door it would look sick. but thats just me. im not into making my car look good, versus making it beat all the cars that look good...sleepers are the way to go.

off topic but my neighbor is putting a 1.8 4 banger in his 99 eclipse GSX. turbocharger too.
