I have a 2.4L but future mods include:
-headers
-air intake-cold or warm(still weighing out the advantages/disadvantages)
-62mm TB
-high flow cat(maybe)
Do you think it woulod just be retarded if you saw a 4 banger rollin with dual exhaust, including cat-backs?

What's the difference? In reality most cars only have a single exhaust anyway. It's just for looks so do it. :)

Are we talking true duals or just dual tips?

Well would true duals be louder/ more effective with the mods i plan to get?...because I'm fine with just getting a 1-in-2-out camaro style exhaust.

:iagree:
Most are not true duals (V6 and V8 included), so it's for cosmetics and aesthetics. If you like the look, then why not go for it?

No. True dual would not only be expensive and difficult to fit, but completely pointless on any engine offered on the GA. In your case, it would actually hurt streetable performance.

Now I'll agree with you.

thanks for all the advice, i'm most likely gonna go with dynomax or SLP...from what i've heard from other members is that these two brands sound really good on the GA

SLP will sound awful on the 2.4.

well than what kind of cat-back setup should I get? Or if I choose to get a custom one made, what muffler would sound good?

The pre-made Borla cat-back is the only other option... it sounds decent but you can tell that it was tuned for the sound of the V6 instead.
If you decide to go the custom route, I'd choose any steel/glasspacked in a standard size. I'd avoid chambered mufflers, canister mufflers, and the ones where the tips are built-in. Dynomax, Borla universal and some others work well. There's plenty of info posted here already... the search button will be helpful.

if you want the duals just get a flowmaters 80seriers go to a shop an say you want 2.5 man bend it'll probably be cheaper then a Borla pre-made plus the Borla come in 2.25 pipe size most ppl like to have 2.5.

Dual exhaust on a 4cylinder is an infraction on the Rice Citation:

Don't wanna get in trouble with the law, do you?

I wouldn't go bigger that 2.25" on a normally aspirated 2.4. Especially on an automatic.

Um, ok. It's already been stated as just for looks. Care to explain why dual exhaust is any less pointless/not rice on any transversely mounted V6? Cause most of the stock GAGT's on this would deserve the "ticket" too.

It's just fun...something to tease the ricer kids with...why you getting so upset? *looks at profile* Ohhhh...cause you have a 4 cylinder. No need to get all defensive. Again...it's just fun...and unless you'll have more than a couple boxes checked you won't be visited by the Ricer Police.
Rest easy.

I hear ya.
It's all good...and your ride would never get an infraction.
'charged Quad 4...that's awesome.

i wanna blower on my twin cam :( I am the borderline to rice, and it makes me sad sometimes. But atleast I dont have spinner rims, an aluminum wing, or coffee can(s). But all my lights are blueish white in the front of my car, and all the lights out back are red.. and the turn signals are leds so they blink ricer fast. And i have a cavy rice intake

splice in those $3 resisitors to your turn signals so they don't blink fast.
I had LED's for brake lights and signals on my old Sunbird.
Spliced in the resistors...they blinked fine.

Aww damn, I have about 5 of those.
But back on topic, I plan to get duals on my 2.3L mainly cause I have the GT back bumper. I plan to get 2 borla XLS mufflers, 2.25" piping, and dual chrome tips. I don't think there is anything wrong on a 4 banger.

how do the borlas sound on a 4 cyl engine?
I wanna stay away from the buzzy high pitched sound(typically on modified civics etc.)

I haven't heard them on a 4, only a 6. But on the 6 they had a nice low mellow tone when idle and a smooth rumble when reving. Thats why I am going for the Borla.
No coffee cans here.
