i have a 96 2.4 and i just got everything back from the machine shop (spun #3 bearing) and i had to get a new crank and have it turned. the crank they gave me back doesnt have the timing chain gear on it. i was wondering if this was pressed on or if it was part of the crank...they might have gave me the wrong one or forgot to put the gear back on. thanks

oh man, you spun a bearing and decided to rebuild then engine! You are my bhero. And its really coincidental that you spun the same bearing I did. Praise GM's great quality parts

80%-90% of engine failure on these motors is b/c of that.

What kind of mods do you plan on running to achieve this? Is your car auto or manual?
