I added a "Ecotec Engine" section to my photobucket account. I have the RSM strut tower brace and a manual transmission.

That's sort of a hard question to answer.
I bought the cover "polished" and put in another 10-15 hours. I used my dremel where I could and finished by hand. The grooves on the top needed work, especially on the ends and the inside corners were unpolished. From the swirl marks, it looks like a 2" flat buffing wheel was used on the flat surfaces.
If you are going to try polishing your valve cover, I would recommend buying a spare cover and polishing that one. I used Mothers metal polish.
I'm toying with the idea of powder coating or chrome plating the next one. That would involve removal of the gasket. I just might use epoxy paint.
Be sure to check your timing chain if you take your cover off.

I have been keeping an eye on ebay trying to find one fo these bad boys to polish up... I have a dremel right here, and doing a hand polish job would be a good way to pass the time since I work days & my girlfriend works nights :(
know where to find one, and about how much they are worth ?

Check the "for sale" sections on the forums and ebay. They sell for about $40-$50. You could also try junkyards or online used parts places.

Post away, Mike. I put my pictures in the photobucket so I wouldn't have to resize.
I'm thinking of either powder coating or epoxy paint on one of my valve covers. I like the polished one but every now and then I get the urge to do one in white with a white coil cover.
One thing you may want to consider is painting the area behind the hood latch and openings in the plastic shroud that covers the radiator. There's two new shots in my photobucket to show what I'm talking about.
I did that when I got my new hood and found it was warped. The hood latch is adjustable (and removable) so I painted the area behind it at the same time.

you mean the part where the latch is to open the hood? mine is fine in there, i clean in there like every other wash like when i clean my engin. i just take the cover off and wipe in there and trough on some spray wax.
i am having trouble seeing where you did it on your photobucket page. is it painted black??

I sprayed it black around the latch & hood bumpers and used vinyl behind the headlights. The vinyl covers the holes left after removing the prop rod clips. It's a small thing but I think it makes the shroud blend in more, especially on the lighter colored cars. It blends so well, it's hard to see in the pictures.

The GAOC Albany meet is usually held in July. There will be announcements in the next couple of months as to the schedule and dates.
Here's the chat starting already --> Albany chat (http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50834)
