Naw...take a look at the 3500 Chambers...those are the best examples of what to do with that section of the head.

Check on 60degreeV6

somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but if you remove that part, you'll seriously decrease your compression ratio. That part just occupies space within the cylindar, you take it out and now the TDC displacement will be like 3 times higher, effectively reducing your CR by, well...3 times.

Powershop Porting service did my Cylinder heads on my 3.1L Sunbird.

They worked the chambers in a way that resembeled the 3500 heads, with that Valve "skirt" thingy taken back a bit, and the Bowls very smooth and clean.

The Chambers CC'd at a slightly larger than stock amount. But taking 10thou off the head and installing the thinner Iron Head Gasket increased the CR by more than enough.

If the Heads are being milled than chamber work is a great benefit.

Exactly!

Like I was saying...the 3500 heads have the chambers different.

The way that area is (Pushed back) is fine.

Don't remove it , just smooth it out a bit for better air/fuel flow.

Yea...basically copy the 3500 chamber.

thats pretty much what im looking to do just smooth the whole chamber up to help the air/fuel move around better.

Yup...It's a good idea. Go for it.
