erls fuse

i just got this grand am with a bad 2.4 i put in a new engine and found
the erls fuse missing. put in a new one and it blew as soon as i started the engine. any ideas?

What is a "erls fuse"? I'm not familiar with it.

I have the same problem.

according to the owners manual, ERLS is for "Engine Controls, starter and charging system"

Check the wiring at the starter... it's easy to mix up all those grounds and fusible links when you were changing it. That was the source of my dead short once.
