Well recently my "SES" light came on so I took it in to have it checked. They told me I need a new fuel filler neck because it was leaking vapor or something like that. Anyway they said installed it was going to be about $200. I have been to this dealership many times and I trust them to make the right diagnosis.
So I guess my question is has anyone else had this happen to them or know anything about the gas filler making the "SES" light come on? Thanks!

If you have a leak in the EVAP system it can cause the SES light to come on. The reasion being it cant build enough pressure in the gas tank to help with the EVAP process. The way they test this is by filling the EVAP system with a smoke and using a very bright light to detect the leak.

It sounds true enough.
You can get a filler neck for cheap and replace it your self. There are plenty of cars getting parted out and not many people need a new piece hose.

I had the same problem caused by a faulty gas cap.

thats exactly the right process!:D Might wanna try and get the filler neck yourself then have them install it because everyone knows that dealership mark up on parts is way high. Im pretty sure dealerships will install a part that you bought yourself but most likely won't warranty it if there is any problem.

It's just a formed rubber hose with two hose clamps. Buy some ramps and a screwdriver and save yourself $175.
