Looks good man. Suggestion. Go on ebay and get yourself some piping from the cold air intakes and use that.

i cant because the bend is too tight. i ordered a pipe from a motorcycle exhaust company where it goes from one to two to one pipe and theres a chamber after they come back together and it creates a cyclone effect, so it actually increases flow

I'd like something like that in my GA.

i'm hopefully cleaning it up sometime soon, the problem is the coupler after the BOV and before the MAF, its right above the upipe so it gets really friggin hot, so i had to wrap it as well as the pipe right next to the turbo, i'm going for effeciency rather than looks, i just made the intercooler look good in the front, thats the only part that someone will see on a regular basis, but i agree that it could look prettier

who cares how pretty it looks, as long as it doesnt roast anything but the tires :D

can we get some vid/dyno/gtech results? I bet it sounds great, hows the tuning coming along?

Props on the custom turbo, not many people do it right :thumbup2:

You could say that again. Or, heck, I'll do it for you.

Nice! Glad to finally see some pics of it up. That setup looks good. Love the intercooler. Ya I wouldn't worry about the whole look of it as long as you are running it most efficiently. Nice job! :thumbup2:

thats the funniest thing I've every seen. I just think that my wifes 97' Chevy Lumina has that 3.1 engine, and trying to think of that turbo'd is funny as hell.

So let me get this straight;

You turbo'd a 3100 V6 without beefing up your internal parts?

Exactly what PSI are you running with that Stock WRX turbo?

germ
10-27-2005, 03:43 PM
you dont need to beef up the internals. hell, ive boosted 15psi before plenty of times. and i run 10-12 psi daily

the 3x00 engines have damn strong cranks and forged rods, and pretty decent pistons for sub 20 psi power.

when boosting, you need to worry about the tranny before you do the engine parts and with proper tuning, you can take the stock engine pretty far.

NaturalKonc3pt
10-27-2005, 04:27 PM
thank you for that, i was gonna explain but you did a better job i think?

NaturalKonc3pt
10-27-2005, 04:28 PM

Just a word of warning; most people use synth with this sort of thing since there are reports of Dino coking up the oil feed line. Just putting it out there adn trying to keep your project alive

NaturalKonc3pt
10-28-2005, 10:20 AM
thank you, i'll keep that in mind
