head light wonders

Hi there, I was curious what is the metal bracket around the headlight's. I just changed my lamps on my 2001 se1 with a set of piaa( actully threre just like Piaa) I was wondering what is this bracket. Wouldn't the light be brighter if the bracket there. Or is it a heat sheild. If it does nothing, is it hard to take out.

It's there to properly direct the light beam. Taking it out will result in an uneven and irregular light pattern. I'd leave it be. :)

... more specifically, the light will be directed upwards into the oncoming driver's eyes :(

hey shawn and kelly I like to thank you both for theadvise :bigok: I wasn't sure. :idunno: you guy's rock hey I know it's early in the year. but do you guy's usealy have a meet on the east coast in the fall(maybe september:wink4: . The only reason for the asking:???3: is that the Fiancee(will be wife by then)and will be heading to the maritimes to meet my side of the family:party2: . As i'm from Moncton NB. It would be nice to meet up with some of you guy's on the East side of the country.

Moncton is less than 2 hours away from me... Even if there isn't any planned meets, I'm sure I could meet up with ya. :) But we usually get together at least once in the fall too.

thanks again. I'll post when were down east. were going all over the maritimes. plus to freeport (somehow she found out about freeport) maine. Well in any case I'll keep every body in touch.
