Hey i have a 1997 grand Am and i have a cold air intake system and a throttle body spacer ordered and on its way. From what i understand both of those items will give me only a 5 hp gain. Ha Ha that is not enough i was wondering if there is anywhere that i could find a intake manifold and headers for this car. I really don't know much about this so if there are any other tricks or better modifications that are maybe cheaper or better please let me know.


??? How much hp do you think i will gain from the throttle body spacer and the cold air intake ????

5-7 is about right. the TBS really won't do much, so all of the gain will be from the CAI.

Try a search...I think headers and manifolds have been discussed before.

When you get the TB spacer toss it in the trash, or try to sell it. The intake will net your 5-7hp like stated.

You can buy a header for your car from www.the-race-shop.com for about $400. You can get an intake manifold off an older 2.3L quad 4 HO and mod that to fit. for more info on the manifold swap go to this link http://www.quad4forums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3252

There are a ton of parts out there you can put on these cars, if you want more info just ask.

Hey Ron,haven't seen any links to the 2.4 header on their site,everytime I try to search for something those damn Clutch pictures pop up

i would give him a call, he wasnt to clear on how to order it, but did say they were avalable. As soon as i get together another 200 bucks im calling.
