Ok so it has recently been very wet and rainy and my intake finally decided to suck up some water and cause my car to stop running. I decided yesterday to put her back to stock and now it doesnt even feel like my car anymore. I keep catching myself listening for that whistle and that roar when I get on the throttle. Needless to say I am very bummed :( I have heard of water shields for intakes but I just cant find any anywhere. Anyoneknow someplace where I can pick one up so my intake will stop sucking up water?

take an old nylon (moms, girlfriends, most women have a few ones they can spare) and put it over the air filter in the fender, it's an old trick I read in an off-road magazine.
Also, in your CAI, where is the filter mounted?

Nylon huh? Its a cold air that runs down the driversside fender right under the windshield washer reservoir. I put an aed front end on it and was told I didnt need the plastic piece that connected to the bottom so it was basically wide open.

K&N makes a thing called a "DryCharger" its a wrap thats treated to repel water and it goes around the cone filter. You just need to know the dimensions of the filter. Also I think AEM makes a bypass valve, but thats a little more pricy.

Bypass valve? Could you explain a little on how that works?
