air filter problems

i puit a K&N air filter in and it seems im getting worse gas mileage. can someone tell me whats up?

Have you had a heavier foot since installing it? How much difference? Same driving conditions, weather, temperature, etc?

Many factors determine your mileage, it's pretty hard to judge in that short of time. Give it a few weeks, see what happens.

Also, though it should be properly sealed by the design of the filter, make sure you have the filter in properly and the box tightened securely.
