Here's something really stupid...I can't figure out what the paint code is for my car. I know there's a WA part number for it that I can use to get touch up paint. Unfortunately GM makes 2 different kinds of white and my label (under the spare tire) is missing this number. All it says is U926A, which i can't seem to find anywhere in any reference texts. The sticker on the driver door has no info about paint and the glove box has no label at all. I don't want to guess with this. How can I find out which shade of white (white or bright white) is on my car? Thanks.

Is it? If it is, is it just something like "W" for white because there are 2 whites that GM uses and that's my dilemma

That U number should be the paint code. Just go in to any parts store that supplies paints and tell them that paint code.

My 2002 GA is Bright White (16). Duplicolor NGGM433 and DSGM433
The original owner had the spare tire cover replaced when he bought the car due to a trunk leak. They tossed out all the codes with it.

right down your vin, and go to a dealership. tell them you need paint and you only have your vin, they should be able to look it up for you.

Guess that's what it'll end up coming down too.. though it is good to know that an 02 grand am is bright white. At least if I'm going to guess I'll guess that.

... sometimes a paint code isn't enough as in my case, my 99 'red' GA has a 4 to 5 different variations of 'red' for the same paint code :(

G.M. calls the color of my GT1 "Arctic White". I don't know the actual paint numbers though; I'd like to find out those numbers also.

Here is a little interesting info ...
Info - Service Parts Identification Label Indicates Incorrect Paint Code #02-08-51-003 - (Oct 2, 2002)
Service Parts Identification Label Indicates Incorrect Paint Code
2003 Chevrolet Malibu Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 3M579922
2003 Oldsmobile Alero Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 3C177139
2003 Pontiac Grand Am Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 3C177137 or 3M579921
All 2003 Malibu, Alero and Grand Am model vehicles built prior to the above VIN breakpoints were built with the wrong paint code for white cars. The paint code on the Service Parts Identification Label indicates an incorrect paint code of WA926A. The correct paint code is WA8624.

Mine's arctic white as well. Paint code is WA9753. PN for the touch-up paint tube from GM=12345798. Don't know what it is for the spray can.

Thank you JayDoc.... If this damn rain stops, I will confirm my paint code by checking that spare tire cover. I need a tiny bottle of touch-up paint from those stupid shopping carts....
Also, I have a chance to purchase a SCT hood, and it is off a 2001 GT1 (mine is a 2000). I am trying to determine if my car is the exact paint code of the 2001 so I could hopefully avoid having to have it painted.
I guess I would probably have to obtain the other car's VIN #, or the paint code from his spare tire cover to compare against mine.
Thanks JayDoc for the info; take care...
