Hi,
This one is about my brothers 3.4 1997 venture. My buddy came over to help me change the spark plugs+ plug wires on the van. The way the engine is designed, the front 3 plugs are accessable, but you would have to rotate the engine to get to the rear. I asked my buddy if it was okay to do only 3 at a time, and he said it was, and I trusted his advice, thinking he knew more than me; he always sounds like he does, and his dad is a master mechanic and all that.
So we did the 3 plug wires, and 3 plugs, and started the car up, and it was running rough, and horribly, misfiring on at least one cylander. I told my brother to take my car the following day. When I woke up this morning I took my haynes manual out and used a diagram in it to see that he had hooked up a plug wrong, and that helped a lot, but it still is worse than it was now with new plugs, not even as good as it was with the old ones, and is starting real hard, and I don't even want to try putting it into gear again.
Here is what I'm thinking of doing. being that there is new plugs and wires on one side and old wires and plugs on the other, it is probably causing one side of the engine to fire faster and more frequently than the other, No? So when I get home from school today, unless I hear differently from any of you I'm going to put the old plugs and wires on and start the van up then. My friend and I had done this already when we first encountered the problem, but still, I think he changed back to the old wires and messed up the order of where they are to go in the back...
So that is my huge friggin problem...No joke...I have no car until I get this fixed, and if I can't find a solution or fix it soon, I have to pay the money I was saving for a offroading truck to get it fixed
 :( which would be the worst thing ever imaginable, so please, if you have the smallest idea of what this could possibly be, or what could fix it,
PLEASE HELP AND POST
Thanks,
Dan
NOTICE: Don't warn me for double posting- I only put the original thread in the engine one because that's where I figured it should have been originally, and I really need reponses and help fast, if you couldn't tell, so I need it in the right place.
:jesus: :tears: :thanks: :yourock: :flag:
