View Full Version : spray waxes
how do ga owners feel about all the spray waxes out there on the market. saying they remove dust and soil without scratching. I have tried them and they do leave a nice shine BUT I do wonder once the sun brightens up that waxed part of the car if there is fine scratch lines caused by that spray wax. any comments?

Since I've never used a spray wax I can't answer your question, but I am curious if they work and look better than "regular" wax. I'm hooked on the Liquid Glass brand, but am willing to try others.

It is the closest thing you can buy in a store to get the pro look + they make a a cleaner to take out the marke you talk about but i hope you hace a buffer. it makes it alot easer to work with :P

I just used a turtle wax version and it seemed to have put a nice shine to my ga! It's especially great when you are running short on time and need to wax to shine your ride in less than 45 mins. I haven't notice any scratches. I need the nice glow to my GA here in southern Cali.

I've never used spray on wax, but I do know that it doesn't last nearly as long as good hand applied wax job.

In general, most of the spray-on waxes are good for adding essential oils to enrich the paint finish. If you look at the ingredients on many of the brands of spray wax, you will generally see that many of them contain oils, which are good for your paint. As a matter of fact, it's a good idea to use the spray wax as a pre-treatment to your regular wax. The oils in the spray wax will help lubricate the paint finish for the wax. Many waxes contain abrasives that will leave swirls and fine scratches in the finish over time. You can follow-up the wax job with another coat of spray-on wax. That will help make the finish even richer-looking. I think Mother's California Gold makes a whole kit with the spray-on wax as the last step.
