I believe that the vents are the same as the 99+ where you'll need a coat hanger to pull the clips from behind.... Welcome to the boards, btw.

I would use a thin piece of flexible wire (like speaker wire)...I found it easier than a coat hanger...just my 2¢

i just yanked mine straight out, it took a lot of force, and im surprized it didnt break anything. -- actually ive yanked them out twice now, once to clean them, then a few days later i decided to paint them, so i yanked them out again... and i may be yanking them out a third time to paint the actual venty part black, since its charcoal. (last time i painted the rings red)

You could wire them off the cig lighter, but make sure you put a switch on it. I got one of those $2 'add-a-circuit' things from pepboys and found a ground for the ones that I have done.

Those add-a-circuit things are amazing, lol. It converts 1 fuse location into 2 with 2 fuses and a power line comming off of it. For example, I don't have a sunroof, but I have an add-a-circuit off of the sunroof fuse to power some LED's. Also, since wiring up an aftermarket hu in car with OBDII requires a new 12v source, I used an add-a-circuit off the stock radio fuse to power it up.
Also, an amazing item for around $3 :)

if you realy wanted them to pop, you could paint the inside of the vents white... and sand down teh tip of the led to help w/ dispersition... and there is a special tool that you, everyone should have.. its called a pick tool.. its a tool that is like an nail, but it has a 90 degree bend at the end w/ a point.. good for taking apart dashes and what not.. ask any car installer and you they will tell you exactly what im talking about..

anyone ever thought of putting the led's in the acrylic/plastic rod used for diy angel eyes behind the vents? just thought it would be different and hella bright.

it wouldnt be that bright... your taking the led's intensity away...

thats not a bad idea... if you get 2 really bright LEDs to put in either end of the rod, you wouldn't have to worry about finding a wide-angle LED or filing down the tip. I think it would look pretty cool if you do a good job.
I wouldn't paint the inside of the vents white, that would be REALLY hard to paint. It would look cool if done well though.
