View Full Version : The cigarette lighter does come out!

The cigarette lighter does come out. I have seen others interior painting posts and moast just tape around the cig lighter. Well, there are tabs that hold the silver tube inside the plastic part. Just pull up on the tabs with a small flathead screw driver being careful not to break them and push the silver tube out. Next you can push the plastic piece out (this has tabs that need to be pulled).

Installation is reverse of removal.

I got mine out too. I didn't have that plastic lid on the 2002 SE>

Yes the lighters come out. I removed mine when I painted my interior. No pix tho, my camera is on the fritz

Yep and no plastic bit on the 4th gens either, you just hold the outside end and unscrew the inside and it comes apart :)
