Well I bought a Civic intake off Ebay... haven't gotten it yet b/c of some quality control issues so I'm getting a full refund.
So I'm considering getting a Spectre Intake (http://www.powerflowracing.com/1home.html) Modular CAI to make the whole thing nice instead of having the ribbing. My question is has anyone made a intake from them? Also about how much does each piece cost? Lastly how do these piece stay connected?

Hmm modular inake eh? That's an interesting idea. First time I've seen something like that. From the looks of it, it seems like the peices hold together via compression/friction fit. Like you have to push the parts together with some force and they don't come apart easy. I could be wrong, but that is what it looks like.
The "velocity funnel" parts look a bit gHey/unnecessary but the rest of it looks like a good idea.

Dun-Dun-dah-dah-daaaaaaaah! Spectre wholesaler at your service.

First off, your car has a specific combination to put together. You buy the parts according to that 'recipe'. The pipe sections are in the $9-15 per piece range depending on part itself. Filters range depending on style.
The pipe sections are held together by the collars included with each piece, seen below. The tubing and collars are made from achrome plated polymer that resists the typical heat associated to some intakes.

You can get a mock up kit from a Spectre retailer so you can design your own system if your car is not available, then go back and buy the parts needed to duplicate it.

I noticed a Pep Boys back home is listed as a retailer. So I just ask them for the mock up kit then.

I don't see one going on for the 3100. I see one for the 2.4.

Thanks. I'm going to check and see how much it might cost me to do the Spectre. Then see which will be cheaper.
I think the Spectre should look really clean since there is only one colored coupler and it connects to the intake.

my whole intake is Spectre and I love it, it works very well and sounds damn good and I only spent $70 for everything. I highly recommend Spectre if you have a 3.3L V6 or something similar.

Cool, I was wondering how much it might cost.
Did you do the whole thing or did you leave the "ribs"?
I'm not sure if I'm going to do this anymore b/c I might be getting a good job over the summer and maybe looking for another car.

I've never heard of Spectre before, great thread.
I would like to pick up a kit and put the ends through the foglight
openings.

Search here; two people did it, and got V6's.
One quoted $80 w/o pipe.

The Spectre thing seems like a very easy and cool idea, with a free mock up kit to boot. If I wouldnt have RA, I would think about that.
