Does anyone know the sizes of the throttle body and big ole hose that goes to the blabk plastic restrictive thingy on the TB....??
I am thinking replacing that restrictive part with a silicone elbow might help out a bit and with a K&N pannel filter, should work pretty good....
anyone done this??

no kidding.... maby if I had 300 bucks kicking around I would do that... I missed out on one on ebay that I ended up being out bid on at the last minute (auction ended at like 3am) it went for 50 cents more that my bid.... what was 80US... kick-ass deal, but yea, those dont come up every day, and I have been thinking as I am driving through the insane rain we are getting, that I dont really want something that has anykind of risk like that associated with it... also, in looking at the tube from the air-box to the plastic thing on the throttle body it is quite large, and if I could eliminate the plastic rig that restricts the air there with a nice free flowing elbow, then I would be much further ahead, and be completly safe rain or snow.... is there any sensors in this plastic rig? there are some elbows on ebay that come with an opening for a sensor....

Then buy a cheap WAI off ebay for your motor. There like 60 bucks.

ok, what I want to do is have a high / free & easy flowing stock intake, achieving this would include a new bend into the throttle body & a K&N drop in. I dont want a cheap WAI or a $300 CAI or anything in between, just a better stock intake.

Then your not going to achive that, the stock intake isnt even going to perform as good as a cheap ebay intake. All those ripples and so on in the intake pipe slow down the air and prevent it from being free flowing. but if you REALLY have you your heart set on your idea, then go for it.

yea, thats what I would say about any other cars stock intake I have seen, but this plastic tube between the airbox and throttle is pretty freakin big... bigger than a tube on a CAI I think...
