What parts do you mean, specifically? Most engine-specific parts are interchangeable, but not all. However there could be vehicle-specific parts (such as mounts, etc) that would not be interchangeable between the two.

Some parts will fit to the engine but not to the car though. Headers are a good example of this. Headers are available for the 3400, on the 99+ GAs and the headers will physically bolt up to the 3100 (AFAIK) but the problem is the "rear" one will not clear the firewall, so they won't work on a pre-99 GA.

Have you considered swapping your 3100 (L82) for a 3400 (LA1)? It is a pretty simple/straightforward swap. You can also swap the upper and lower intake manifolds from either a 3100 (LG8) motor or the LA1 but you have to change both of them. The LG8 and LA1 intakes flow better than the ones on the L82. Anyway you should do a search as well, for more info.

but... L81 sounds cooler. More like LT1 or L88. oh well.

LT1- early 1990s Corvette/Caprice/Camaro/Fbird engine, also the hottest sbc in the early 1970s.

L88- You're in a 67 Corvette and smoking. And I'm not speaking of Cigarettes. I'm speaking of the rare 3x2 427 rated at 435HP, but we all know it had more.... hehehe!

hey hey hey my grand am sounds pretty nice and im proud of it i was actually thinking of a swap for a 3400 but didnt the grand am gt come with a 3400 engine and if so would its dual exhaust fit my car (i want a dual exhaust) and if you go on rsmracing.com they have different parts that dont seem to be available for my 3100 but they are there for the 3400 so if the engine came in a 96 - 98 grand am gt wouldn't it logically fit or did they change that much

The 3400 wasn't introduced in grand ams untill 1999. The parts for the 3400 on RSM racing that you don't see for the 3100 (like the headers and transmission mount) were designed for the 99+ grand ams and won't fit the older models.
