View Full Version : Dash backlight wire?

I'm in the process of installing a lcd screen where the hu normally goes. I have four leds that are used as backlighting for the control buttons. Which wire do I connect to so that it will light/dim with the rest of the dash?

Unfortunately I don't know the factory wire colours because of your year; however, I'm sure they've been posted here--try the FAQ or a search.

You are likely going to have two "illumination" wires going to the factory HU harness. One is going to be the parking light on/off signal and the other will be the dimmer wire. The one you want to use is the dimmer wire as it is the "rheostated" one that changes voltage.
