Actually you can make a 96-98 into a flip-flop but it takes a little bit of modding.....Since the arms are covered by a layer of metal, you need to cut away some of the overlap just enough on each side and take out the bottom bolts so the lid can swing up and down......I am going to do it once I can get a spoilerless trunklid from an SE......I've seen a guy with a 96 in my area with it done but he had a body shop do it for him.

I challenge that statement.

Send me a photo of your trunk hinge and where it bolts to the trunk lid and I will give you rough directions on how to make it hinge.
With tools and knowledge anything is possible, that makes the difference between a fabricator and a poser. A Fabricator doesn't say "It can't be done", they say "How can it be done".

just some slight modding:D Have to cut some of the metal where the arms go into the trunk lid/deck lid. Basicaly cut the areas out so you can see the arms. I then machinced a piece of aluminum to put into the top of each arm so it would let the trunk pivot smoothly then fabed up a way of keeping the trunk in normal position or in fliped postion. I did it the more extensive way,im sure someone could think of a less time consuming way
