So the other day I heard this horrible crackling comming from my subs so i took them out and looked to see if anything noticable was wrong and nothing that i could see was. So the subs dont work except by putting out this horrible crackle. Well I was ready to start looking at buying new subs but then I came across a review of this amp online which said "At first, when I hooked it up, it sounded awesome. Then, a horrible crackling sound came out of my sub (1 10" Kicker Solobaric L7) once the amp got hot. I took it to a specialist and told me that the bottom plate somehow was pushing up into the circuits causing a short when fully warmed up. That was fixed quickly. Now, after a few months of casually pushing just one sub, the damn thing stopped working. It just blew a mosfet inside for no reason. I replaced the mosfet, but no improvement. The amp lights up just fine and looks great, but no sound whatsoever going out to my sub or any other sub for that matter."

Anyone heard of this kind of thing and does anyone know if its easy to fix or not? The amp powers up just fine but the subs just crackle from one side, not even both subs, and no bass. Anyone have any help?????

If that's the true cause just open it up & place someting in there to isolate the circuit board from the bottm case plate. I cannot think of anything off the top of my head right now but you'll need something that can handle the heat with catching fire.

EDIT: How about electrical tape? I think i found what is touching the metal base so if i put a piece of electrical tape on the metal where it touches would that work?
