I got a 98 SE.
I was thinking about swapping out the stock 3157 Yellow and 3157s in the brake lights with something brighter maybe LEDs.

For the front I was thinking of getting one of those 25 LED bulbs off Ebay but I don't know if it's a good idea or going with 3357 Yellows.

As for the Rear lights I was think of either getting LEDs or 3357 for a brighter light.

Also what kind of bulb is used in the rear turn signals?

I want a brighter lighting system there are so many options. I want the best trade off between simple installs and gains in brightness.

no led replacement bulb is gonna be even close to the stock brightness... they dont make legal or good ones yet.. they all suck.. so, for now, you could only do a led retro which is a whole diffenrt ball of snot

Hmm then I guess I'll stick with the 3357 plan.

Unless there is something i should know

Well, for running lights the 3357 sits around 100 lumens, LEDs can work just fine in that application, but signal is another story, like he was saying they just dont make LEDs (minus some clusters) that can signal bright enough.

edit: Correction 3357s sit at 400-500 lumens signal, 30-40 lumens running

I've been doing some research and if I'm correct the 3157 and 3357 are almost identical but the 3157 is around 11watts and the 3357 is around 15...

I'm not 100% on these numbers so if anyone has anything to correct it would be great.

I might just scrap the LED idea if it's not bright enough. I want my car to be seen better when I'm braking or signaling at night.

It's important that I get some brighter signals for the front because I'm getting brighter fogs and don't the signals to be drowned.

Im researching my tail project, Ive found some 5mm whites with a sick lumen rating, May require some fabrication, but I think itd be doable

make a thread about that if you get around to fabing them. I would be interested in learning how to do that.
