so ive had my car for almost 2 months now and the cruise control has never worked, i checked the fuses and they appear fine. what next should i check?

One word...Clockspring. Bring it into a shop and have them check it. It is a little to involved for a layman and if installed incorrectly it may deploy the air bag.
