Everything was powder coated except for the block and TB... that means the heads, u/l intakes, oil pan and valve covers, timing cover was just sandblasted and then clearcoated.... heavily... that way I dont have to worry about cheap paint coming off or going really dull.

dumb question maybe...what's a timing cover?

Um timing chain cover... water pump housing... yeah the whole front end of the motor.... The only other gray thing on my engine except for the valve covers.
I take it you dont work on cars often... Or maybe it was the wording I used...

I dont' work on them often (never pulled out an engine or anything), but I wasn't sure if that's what you meant. I kinda thought so, but didn't notice that side of the engine was done up. :) Thanks

did you/do you post on bstuff? I used to post on there and your car looks strikingly like that of a guy that posted by the name of 93GeeTee

Nope, my name on bstuff is 3400-95-Modified 93GeeTee is the guy who was insulting my quarter mile times because I had a "Modified" 3400... when infact its basically a bolt on 3400... nothing too special, without the NOS that is.

lol geetee was always a punk. I think my name on bstuff was 'MajikNinja' or 'NinjaMajik' -- either way I left the forums since I didnt post much as it was, and I blew up 2 berettas during my short stay there, LOL

Very nice engine/install!
I am wondering one thing... Why did you have a breather on the PCV valve before you installed the engine? It looks like you put the hose on the PCV when it was installed though...

I was going to re-route the engine PCV over to the Intake tube so it would recycle filtered air rather than crankcase vapors, but then in doing research I found that it is better to have both the PCV and the rear valve cover breather on in the stock position and location because with it correctly hooked up it draws somewhat of a vacuum on the crankcase and any vacuum even just slightly is a positive thing. I was going to originally try to keep the intake and valve setup as clean as possible by eliminating the possible intake of oil into the system but I also realized I had this issue with my old motor more because I had really bad ring blow by. As of right now it draws close to no oil into the tb and upper plenum.

Nice job! Probably one of the cleanest engine swaps I've ever seen (no hack-job wire splicing). Looks like it came like that from the factory.

Well the fact that the car originally had a 3100 left me with almost no hacking necessary. all the sensors were in the same position, I used 99 3400 injectors so the plug was the same, the only thing i needed to modify was the temp sensor, my original one was on the cylinder head, this one is down near the thermostat, its a 3 pin plug vs my old 2 pin one, it used to be just the fan switch there. Other than that yeah, everything else stayed the same.
I just added two more pics with my new Tranzgenic CAI installed.
Updated my sounddomain page too...

some forum boards are more productive than others i have learned.
i ask questions and I get answers from people who know their stuff.

being mature is just one of them
