who knows...i dont think it's known if you will be able to get a Solstice like this from the factory, or if you will have to purchase all the add ons seperately

Awesome, except for the dash, Looks kinda like someone just drug it out of a barn after sitting 20 years. And for christs' sake get rid of the carbon fiber.
I've seen a Solistice on the street here for about the past 4 to 5 weeks. Nice dark green. It really grabs your attention. I guess I wasn't aware they had them at the dealerships already.

It kinda looks like it's made of suede leather. And the carbon fiber is kinda neat. :)

SEMA is the aftermarket accessories manufacturers association show. You don't see a lot of stuff available stock there.

sumx4182
11-10-2005, 06:43 PM
but alotta times, its the manufacturers themselves that build the cars, like Pontiac for example. And often times, they build it with parts they are thinking about releasing. And if enough people wanna buy the parts, then they might decide to make it an option to get the whole package from the dealership...

That car was built by the Pontiac people, and I agree with you on the color, it's pretty nice, dunno if I like the carbon fiber though, there is such a thing as too much cf.

The orange one is sweet, I love the hardtop. But damn, that RK car is practically orgasmic.

Does anybody know if either of these have anything different under the hood?

Can't see anything wrong with it. I didn't expect to see that coming from Pontiac. Now if they could just put the dam car on the street like that then that would be showing some balls.

This is in regards to the price range of the Solstice What I read like a year ago was that the base model on the convertable was goin to be around 23k They could have changed that because the G6 gtp is close to that price too. Take a look at the G6 gtp too. The gtp has 240 horses I think the stock model of the Solstice only has 180.

The solstice is lighter, RWD, and has a better weight ratio. and you can get into a base modle for $19995

Pontiac just had a price increase to $20,490. But that includes shipping, and it still makes it almost 500 bucks less than the Miato.

My Sol. was $21,500 total. I got Air, cruise, Fog lights.

Didnt go for the power windows, Thought it would be more in the tradition of the old Roadsters if I had to roll down my own window. Archie :)

LSD actually does worse in snow than an open rear, LSD is best for dry pavement, so you can get better traction.

The LSD on the Solstice for some strange reason causes a clunk when shifting into second gear. My little girl has no clunk as of yet! Arch

A little clunk for better traction? id say id take it! then again, if i bought one, id be throwing tons of performance parts at it and i would need a LSD rear, where as if you plan on leaving it stock, power wise, there really isnt a need for LSD. Esp. if you dont plan on racing it.

My Bike was totaled 14 months ago, I got rear ended and plowed along the pavement 50 feet by an 82 year old lady in a Contour. So now that I'm scared to ride anymore. The Solstice will be my 4 wheel bike.

I gots to admit, Pontiac makes some Pretty Neato Cars!

Here is a pic of my deceased "Grey Ghost." Gone but never forgotton! Arch

Thanks there 92, It has taken along time to get over the loss of my bike. Along with a bike comes a llifestyle.

I think Pontiac came along at just the right time for a replacement.

Wide Track has taken me away from complete bordom.

And this here site looks to be a great Pontiac site.

I have had many really cool welcomes from all of you, where I posted on the newbie thread. Thanks to all Arch!

I could live with the hardtop. Am I the only one that liked to coupe prototype better than the convertible and hardtop models? It was rumored for a while that it would be made but at this point I doubt it.
