Hi Everyone
I just want to get a popular opinion on wether or not I should put RALLY STRIPES on my car or just leave everything PLAIN RED
The firt pic is someone elces car with the Warbird hood on it, Which is the hood I'm getting
Second Pic is of the front bumper I'm getting
Third pic is the Spoiler I'm getting
And the forth pic is a grand am I found that had RALLY STRIPES on it
So let me know what you guys would think about me putting Rallies on my car with the part's I showed you, or If I should just leave the car Plain Red?

Anything but the wing. That wing is ugly. Rally stripes look good but i would continue down the front and rear bumper. Racing stripes is more my thing.

I would paint the humps on the hood and carry the stripes back to the trunk. On the trunk, I would connect the bottom of the stripes together in sort of like a "U".
You may also consider painting the scoops in the bumper and the opening at the bottom using the same "U" design you choose on the trunk.

I like the idea, and I love that hood, its quite awesome. Just whatever you do, please, please dont get a lame bodykit!!! the car looks hot as is with the GT kit. Maybe sc/t

AED kits are killer, but cost so much. SCT is really, really sweet, so is a straight GT. and stripes would be rockin, not many ppl with those really..

Alright you really need to start over. Hood=good idea. Bodykit and wing=gaudy. They do not flow well with the lines of the car at all. I would continue looking around.

I think rally stripes are real cool. They make just about any car bad to the bone.

the back bumper wasn't affected by the deer hit so the one that's on there from my first body kit will stay on there.
I wanted to get the same front bumper that I had but needed to cut corners to get a hood. Since my insurance only coverd $1,000 of custom parts. Which is why I'm no longer with that company and the one I'm through now covers 5 grand custom. But anyway the other bumper I had on there( INFERNO Signiture series) was twice as much as this new one
My current back bumper( pic below )

Plus many of the other bumpers out there for GA's are more square looking and they really dont fit the car or the hood. Not to mention I am not goint to replace the whole kit only the front bumper and its hard to find a place that will sell just the front of a SC/T style Kit for as much or less than the price of this one. So my options are limited.
Also I wasn't asking what you thought of the parts I picked out. I was only asking what you thought RALLY STRIPES would look like on the car
Don't Take that the wrong way, I'm not saying that to be a dink. I'm just stateing that your:offtopic:

Ya I like the SC/T style as well but unfortunatly it only fits the GT and won't fit the SE models
and also since price is an issue I can't go with something to costly

Must have read it too quickly, sorry about that. Stripes are always a good idea. Same thing i would do if i had enough money.
p.s-The only reason i don't like that wing is my uncle has it on a buick of his. And it doesn't look good. Maybe on the right car it would.

btw, that wing can look good on a GA, I forget his name, but a silver GA on here has it, and its one of my fav GA's.

Well let me just say one thing to everyone on the GAOC site you guys ROCK
I'm a member to this other site that is Minnesota based only( MNSC ), and it's for all sport compacts. I asked this same simple Question on that site and totaly got bashed for even owning a Grand Am. Not to mention modding a GA. The guys on that site are such A**HOLES, that they put up a Rice flag on me just for wanting RALLY STRIPES!!!
Needless to say I don't think I'll be a member there very long!!
Thankyou to all the GAOC members that contributed there valuable opinions twards this question and for all the other help that I have received from this site. :band: :headbang: once again YOU GUYS ROCK and THANKYOU :thanks:

Thats one reason i hate all the other sites. You mention grand am and their like why would you own a domestic, never the less a grand am. I get really sick of ppl like that. Nobody has any respect for anything people do. In my eyes if people do stuff to mod their car its fine. As long as their not stupid with it. Your car isn't a ricer, and maybe they should look at their car sometimes.
Sorry for the rant, i can't stand people who disrespect others for doing something to improve their car. I hear it all the time where i live. Its either jack your truck up 6 inches or don't drive at all.
I like your car and that all that their is too it. :)

yea Grand Ams are frowned upon down here. But then when I show up with mine to usual laughing insues until I ask the ricers if they wanna race... Most 'dont race', but the few that do are so overconfident... Until I show them my Grand Am isnt exactly a turtle... However, all the camaro guys and supra/3000gt owners still laugh at the Grand Am since my little I-4 can never keep up with their turbo-ed 6's and huge v8s without the aid of forced induction.
In summary, I guess; people that bash the Grand Am typically are ricers who own similarly slow cars (integras, civics, eclipses, lancers (not the evo!), celicas, corollas, etc) and they have no clue that stock for stock the Grand Am out-classes those econo-boxes. However, I guess on the flipside of that is that we, as Grand Am owners cant get too cocky since the Grand Am is a just a step or 2 up from an econo-box.

Ya but stock for stock I'd still take the Grand Am with it's gracefull curveing lines and a somewhat sporty look over those little Uncle Ben's Rice Boxes any day.
It's just too bad that people in the parts industry don't see the true potential of the Grand Am and make more after maket upgrades for the power plant
The only real option we have to getting a big HP boost is Turbo or Suppercharger's, and to me and my wallet that's not very realistic at all.
God if I had the money I'de just swap out the 3400 for the biggest damn engine that would fit. Then again why not just by a faster car to begin with. But it would be HELLA hilarious to see the face's of the non believers when you whoop there asses with a 10 SEC Grand Am.     :roflmfao:

You have just mentioned what im gonna to try to do. Thats been a dream of mine ever since i got it. But first i got to get my career and schooling done. That will make it easier. Though im very interested in what xenolith has done to his car. A 13.9 sec NA Grand Am, just wait till he boosts it....im already getting excited :D

I've done that alot of times. I don't like racing too much but when a ricer calls you out its just so fun to stomp em. I can distinctly remember a Civic and Accord up in Minot.

So if you do that what size engine would you put in there, and would you switch it over to rear wheel drive?
and how much do you estimate that to cost?
By the time you put in a new drivetrain and mod everything to fit and suppercharge it....... hmmmmm....... I would guess it to be arround at least 10 grand. Would it be worth it? or better spent on a different car?
Just currious!!!

Xonelith did all of his mods on the 3400 i beleive. I would just do it to the Grand Am. When you smoke ppl they tend to have this crazy look on their face, when they realize that they have been owned by a GA. In the end its worth keeping the GA but most ppl will say it will be easier in another car.
This is getting :offtopic: though

Personally im not a big fan of the rally stripes. There too linear, I much rather perfer more liquid lines. Im doin a self designed kind of calligraphy/tribal design for my hood. I guess the red looks ok with the rallys on there. Mines white so rally stripes just stand out to much.

Ya I love TRIBAL art work I'm full of tribal tatt's.
But its hard to find a good body shop arround my area to do custom stuff like that.
I found some really cool tribal vinyl graphics on this site called http://instylegraphics.com/index.asp? . I was going to get the tribal 01 design but there kinda spendy. Then to have someone put them on sgggeeeshhh it would have cost me more that 500 bucks.
That's why I thought of rally stripes because my body shop guy can just put them on when he's doing all the other paint and repairs to my car. Because like a month ago I hit this big ass dear and smashed my front bumper, hood, rear trunk lid and spoiler. Damn thing flew right over my car and hit the back of it. I guess it could have been worce the deer could have come through the window
Anyways he can put RALLY STRIPES on my car dirt cheep because he has to replace all those panels. That's why I was asking the GAOC community if I should do it or not.

well here is a little quick update
I didn't go with rally stripes because my auto body guy said they would'nt look right on my hood. He said there are no defind lines to follow on the hood so if I stripe it it would draw attention away from the natural curves of the hood.
but anyways here are a few pics of my car now

Ive gotta say your body shop guy thingy was right, that hood wouldnt be complemented at all by stripes, but it does go with the bodylines of the car. If you had an sc/t hood or sd hood, then I think stripes would look badass.

Actually if you look at the 2 in comparison, The Bola one is much higher quality.
The SLP is only slightly louder than stock exhaust, the Borla Catback is a higher performance exhaust and has a better sound to it.
But if you like the SLP better, then it's all a matter of preferance

true borla may be a bit better quality. But it's really not worth it. I've heard both exhausts. SLP is definately louder, and this coming from someone who owns BORLA. And about the performance qualities. The SLP actually has larger size piping. I forget the exact sizing but it's larger than borla.

Well I got a set of 2 door skirts that came with my first kit that I'm selling and I also had a pair of 4 door skirts but they were a huge pile "O" shit so I had to send those back. So right now no skirts but I think I'll have money for that in the spring.

Not if you bought it from a manufacturer. In stock form the Borla cat back comes in 2 and 1/4 same as stock. Only way you would have 2.5 is if you bought borla mufflers and then had custom tubing welded up.

The thing about rally stripes that most people screw up on our cars is that they fail to include pin stripes on either side of the main stripe. It really makes a difference. And I don't know what kind of line the hood guy fed you, but you could do two lines down that hood and make it look good. I've seen some people do one down the center line, but you have to taper the line as it comes down the front. The rear portion of a single stripe looks strange though.
