Well, I traded in my 2003 Ford Explorer for a 2006 GTO, and oh how I love my decision :D . But really, the car just has a huge amount of power, don't worry, I will always love my grand am, but it is just put out by this car, I just fell in love with it when I test drove it. I haven't really done anything stupid with it yet, but give me a month or two and i'll ATTEMPT a couple burnout's and whatnot. Well, just wanted to let you all know that you should at least test drive a GTO if you don't want to buy one, they are kinda pricy, but I got mine pretty well lowered for the trade-in. But ALWAYS, keep in mind what the true Pontiac car is - Grand Am :P

hmm...Explorer to a GTO? heh, that's a bit of a change! I'm taking my GA for a free oil change/vehicle inspection at the local Pontiac dealership next week, I'll have to go find the GTOs and drool for a bit while I wait :D

Thanks :) Insurance kinda went up a little kinda sorta (2 door coupe AND 4 door sedan grand am, ouch!) But it's cool, I just have to live like I did in college for a while, and then it'll be fine :P

Very nice! :) Have to wait 'till that car is 15 years old to import one into Canada. :( (Since GM does not market it here you can't buy one and for the same reason there are no CMVSS parts to retrofit the car with so you have to wait 15 years for it to be eligible!)

One question though... Why aren't the insert portions of the seats red? I didn't think you could get black/black interior on the GTO? I guess you can!

As long as you go to an actual Pontiac/GM dealer, you can pretty much make anything go into a car. The car salesmen, and the dealer itself bends themselves wholeheartedly to make what you want happen, and I just thought black on black looked sharp, I liked it in my grand am anyways. So, for a tip, if you ever buy a new car, Negotiate the hell out of the dealer and you can get anything you want as long as you are serious on buying. :)

the angel on my shoulder is droolin and dreamin, the devil on my shoulder is thinking of ways to kill you and take the car.

the GTO is way better than the corvette, the corvette has to many curves and waves, the GTO is soooo.. much better. and you got the Tremec? 6 speed, which is the only way to go :D

can't we just buy one in the states and pay the duty on it to bring it up to canada??? I hope so, cause when I win my millions that's what I want to do. lol

Man I want a black on black GTO sooo bad, but Id need to alter the interior a bit, and Ive never liked that steering wheel, but with a sexy car like that, Im sure I could live with it

Nope unfortunately the car doesn't meet Canadian safety specs. But you could have a US Address, register it to that Address and then bring the car over the border with license plates of the state your address is in.

I dunno if the MOT or DOT would care too much, I'd be more concerned with the insurance companies if they found the car was in another country 99% of the year

Your choice of transmission pleases me. Be glad for that.

a GTO a sleeper? you're kidding, right? it does say "GTO" on it, doesn't it? lol.

nice ride though! and decent mpg for an engine that big; guess you're used to that driving an explorer - heck it's probably a step up.

too bad the scoops are only drag & decoration. i would have had the dealer give me a plain hood ( if it's not functional why bother ).. but man, if ever there was a pontiac that deserved to be painted red.. it's a GTO! i could even live with lime green or canary yellow on a car like that.

well, having a friend who owns a late 60's GTO and having driven it myself, those 3 letters mean "$#%5 quick" to me. true, it looks like a grand prix, and you might not expect it to perform like a vette if you didn't know what you were looking at.
