spilled some orange juice on the passenger side a lil while back. after 2 days the smell was absolutely unbearable. took out the floormat and washed it very thoroughly, smells fine. but the car still stunk. went in there with a sponge and some warm water and dishwashing soap. helpped a lil but not nearly enough. then, i purchased some carpet stuff that says it will get out all odors including pet odors. sprinkled it generously and vacuumed up. actually helped alot, but you can still smell the stank a little, its just covered up. i want to know of a way to get the odor 100% elimenated without paying some dude 30 bux or whatever. thanks much - Kev

Try getting some Febreze. IMO that stuff works great, I spray the entire interior of the car down once a week. If you let it sit over night when you get up in the morning it is dry and smells great! Good Luck
Febreze should work. Years ago a friend of mine spilled a gallon of czarnina (ducks blood soup) in the back seat of his Corvair. He tried everything but it always smelled like a dead body inside that car.

Febreze is excellent, and I also found a great product at WalMart called Ozium. It is an odor eliminator; not a cover-up. I think that is what you are looking for. I found it in WalMart's automotive section.
You want to know how good that Ozium spray is ? At the same time I bought the Ozium, I also bought one of those little pine Christmas tree ones that you hang in the car. Well, I hung up that little tree, then sprayed the Ozium and locked up the car for the night.
The next day, every bit of that tree scent was completely gone! The Ozium completely got rid of the scent from that little tree. That is definitely a product that I can say works well. It is also used in libraries and institutions too.....
Give that a try.... WalMart had it in different scents...I bought the "New Car Smell" one.
Hope this helps you out...good luck!

Yeah the ozium will work for the air but I dont know about spraying it on the carpet. The febreze is made to spray on all sorts of cloth. I am sure that ozium will work for any smell you have left in the air though.

Oops... my bad... Yup, you're correct; I should have made that more clear about the Ozium. It is meant to spray "in the air", and not directly onto the carpeting...
A little tip with that Ozium.... When you spray it, and if you're intentions are to really saturate the car and let it sit overnight, make sure your heater or defroster is running when you spray.
This is simply to allow some of the spray to circulate and get into the air-flow ducts where stale air often remains.
I noticed that after I sprayed my car, the next time I ran my air conditioner it had a really nice "new car" smell... the spray reached and freshened the air conditioner and heater ducts and filter. It really made a nice difference.
