Harness Kit for 01 grand am

I am aware of the Metra gmrc-01 harness kit. Locally Ive found it for no less then $110 new. I found that Scoche makes a chime harness for an 2000 and up GA model number GM11. The GM11 cost much less. I just want to know that this will still be the correct harness kit for replacing the stock stereo? Or will I have to have the GMRC-01

I would like to let everyone know that I found the answer to my own question. The Scoche chime unit that I purchased doesnt work. I dont know if was defective but in the process of installation the installer found out that it didnt do a damn thing. So i did have to purchase the gm-rc01 in order to get my head unit in. My statements after my posts Quality goes a long way!

gmrc-01 can be got at crutchfeild for $79 and $59 at circuit city.......wait it use to be $80, mmmm that would make a nice Christmas present :D
