Ok I searched this I did not find what i was looking for. What sites sell brembo front brakes for 96-98 SE`s? My car has jsut gotten over 100,000 so I want to atleast change the rotors, I think tire rack sell brembo rotors but is there anyway to upgrade the rest of the brake? if there is would it call for a new brake cylinder, lines, ect?

You can get a big-brake upgrade for the front rotors and you can get a rear-disc conversion for the rear brakes on our cars, but it is pricey. Either kit is around $800+ Baer makes both kits, I think RSM has both types of kits as well, as does Mantapart. I think the Baer ones are probably the easiest to get though.

If you just want to change the rotors, Brembo might not actually make drilled or slotted rotors for 96-98 GAs. They likely have the regular vented rotors. If you see any that are slotted or drilled make sure the box label indicates they are drilled or slotted or it is likely done afterwards by the company selling them, not Brembo. Edit: Correction I see that Brembo does have Sport Drilled and also Sport Slotted Rotors for 96-98 GAs. They are $144 for a pair at tirerack.com.

I'd recommend rotors like PowerStop or PowerSlot (yes different companies). They sell rotors in slotted, drilled, or drilled/slotted types. They run about $50-$80 US each (as in per side) and can be bought from several places. I'd recommend www.brakewarehouse.com as they have decent prices and are a good place to order from. I've ordered from them in the past and recommended them to a friend who made a couple orders as well and we never had any problems with them.

For lines, you can upgrade the existing flexible lines to stainless steel lines, Goodridge makes a kit for our cars, it goes for around $80 US.

You won't need to change the master cylinder provided it has no problems, but I would strongly recommend you get the brake fluid flushed. If you can, get fluid like ATE SuperBlue or TYP200, if not just make sure it is flushed/filled with new DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid.

As for pads, there are a LOT of pad choices for 96-98 GAs. I'd recommend Performance Friction Carbon-Metallic (std. level) or Z-Rated (higher performance) brake pads. The Z-Rated are available for our years and I think the price was around $60 US. However there are a lot of other "performance" pads you can get as well--if anything just stay away from the bargain basement pads.

your better off geting some OEM blanks from Napa or someplace with some ceramic pads. From a few people that I know have crossdrilled and/or slotted, that is mainly looks. Not saying to buy the cheapest OEM rotor though,go with the higher end OEM ones with some ceramic pads. Im not against those rotors or anything, infact I want some myself but my car doesn't go fast enough to actually put those performance rotors to their potential so the OEM style rotors with some ceramic pads would be just right.

thanks man, you really gave me some good stuff, you can never stop too fast, ryan my car is slower than yours but this is kind of a saftey thing, i live out on country back roads and deer and dogs really like to run out infront of me, plus the rare strip or high speed occasion is really hard to slow down without the car shaking aand stuff, anyways thanks Roland.
