I mostly listen to heavy metal. I am getting this hu http://www.cardomain.com/item/CLADXZ655MP?vq_id=none

this is what i am thinking of but i want your opinion on it (and if you think it would fit nice) http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicker-12-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Package-VS12L5-/sem/rpsm/oid/117528/catOid/-13093/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
and another thing where would this sub be mounted? i looked at the car audio faq and these 2 look like they will go together nicely however i would appreciate it if someone with lots of wisdom on this topic would double check to see if they are compatible

and also what amps would go good with it?

Okay. The Hu is a good selection. The pre-out voltage is a little weak (That's what sends the signal to the amps for the sub or other speakers if you're running external amps) but it'll get the job done. As for the sub. You need to decide on what you want it to sound like. Kicker solo barics are great at being LOUD. Sound quality? not so much. I actually had two 10" solo-baric L7's, and they were crazy. I downgraded to one in a little sealed box and it was perfect for what you want. WIth heavy metal, there's a lot of bass kicks double bass kicks and what not. I would recommend a smaller driver in order to achieve the punch you want. The bigger the driver, the less punchy it is generally. AS for placement, just throw it in the trunk. Now. What I just did that I LOVE is I but two 6.5" subs in the rear deck. Takes up no trunk space and sounds very very good. You could do this with the subs I bought: http://www.edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=15&pid=32&cur=USD or go with other ones. It takes a little bit of creativity to make them fit, but the end result is worth it.

As for an amp. If you decide you want to go with the kicker solo-baric, you need to get a powerful amp to push it properly. A crappy amp will hurt your sub, and you don't want that. I'd look on eBay for a Phoenix Gold Octane series amp. They're great amps, reasonably priced, and will push your sub nicely. If you can afford a kicker amp, do that, jl, or orion are all good options as well. A lot of people like Hifonics amps, that'll do as well. No Pyle, jensen, or other such garbage brand amps will get the job done due to the nature of the sub. If you decide you'd like the go the 8's in the rear deck like I did, you can get a less expensive two channel amp from any of the above mentioned manufacturers. I run all Elemental Designs gear (comps, amps, and subs) and I couldn't be happier...but that's just me. You need to expereince different things to see what you like and don't like.

yea but the thing is i want a sub that is already in a box. i dont think i have the tools to make them (i live in an apartment and dont even have furniture yet. (and im not very good in those areas anyway so it would take me along time and i want one that is already custimized for its sub)

Alright, then go for it with one of the amps I recommended. Or look at different subs. MTX used to make a box with 3 10's in it for a good price. That wouldn't be a bad way to go.

i couldnt find the 3 10 mtx one. i want a sub under 300 that is perfectly suited for rock music and one that wouldnt sound bad in the trunk (could be 4) i dont know what specs really matter for rock music even though i read the faq (even the one at this webpage that shows you how to choose a sub)

I like 10's for rock music. Like I said, the solo-baric 10" I had was awesome! Do they have any of those? I actually had a store-bought box for mine (kicker made a small one) it's was great.

10in woofers have a quicker responce time then 12+ they are much better suited for your type of music.
