Add Remote Start

Right now I have a Viper Alarm on my car, it's just the standard car alarm keyless entry/trunk release. I was curious if I could add a Viper Remote start to my car or would I have to get rid of my alarm right now and buy a kit with an alarm & remote start combined.

If I can just add a remote start are there certain models that must match my car alarm or would any Viper remote start work?

I believe you can add it... I don't really see why you couldn't.
Only thing is you will have 2 remotes.


I would just go to place that installs alarms and ask them.

Yeah you can add one. If you want to add a DEI module, you should look into their "Valet" line. But you can always go with another brand as well. You should have a free channel on your current system, if not some add-ons even allow for a double-pulse to start the RS (meaning you press lock twice within a few seconds or something).

No problem at all to add a Rem. Start to and existing alarm. I'd definately stay with a DEI product though. You can also control everything off the same remote.
