"These taillights will only fit if you install our 96-98 Grand Am G2 Combat Rear Bumper."
so does this mean i could get a 96-98 rear bumper and paint it the same color as my car and fit thoes tails on there?

Right, basically they are 96-98 tails that could be made to fit with a matching bumper. I'm wondering of they took into account the turn signal differences... 96-98 had separate amber lenses. Either way, it could be done... but it's an awful lot to have to change bumpers just for some tails that look rather, well... I'll stop there.

Can't forget the reverse lights (just more work to hook it up to those tail lights

Yup, since that AAS bumper eliminates the 92-95 reverse lights you'd have to hook those up.

Sounds like way too much of a PITA... Can't you just clear 92-95s? I'd do that if I could.. Instead of having to uproot the backend  But that's just me :D

That's an option too... some have installed pipes and red lenses within the clear tail for an altezza look.
There's threads on that here... search is your friend. ;)

You can only do it if ya get their bumper too.. So essentially you're changing the entire ass end of your car for tail lights..

plus think of the reverse lights as "shaved" :)

thats the dumbest thing ever. why does one have to change a bumper to fit tail lights???? they should be a direct replacement

You need the 96-98 bumper to use the 96-98 tail lights on the 92-95... It seems to me it's like a rear end conversion-ish thing

but hey lets sell 99 headlights and put them on a 93 because they dont fit, or you could buy my fenders and bumpers just for the headlights, AAS is stupid

92-98 are all the same chassis. Just a facelift for 96-98. Fitment wise, the tail lamp really only lost the outer corner for a more oval shape in 96-98. The 96-98 rear fascia fills in that triangle area that would otherwise be occupied by the 92-95 tail lamp.
If one were so inclined (and some have) you can covert 92-95's to 96-98 look and vise-versa.

I'd like to get some AED tails for my car. It's something I liked and I think I'm going to stick with the AED tails.. though.. they are a bit on the expensive side.

I should have read more. Trish is right though. You would need to get the 96-98 Rear bumper cover SE or GT depending on your taste and use it along with your tails if your going to use them. You could use them.. but you'd have a nasty gap on each side of them.

to get it to work, need the rear bumper, prolly rear quarter panels(not sure on that) then you will have to get some 3157 sockets to splice into the 92-95 GA reverse lights, and turn signals as well.Since the 96-98 had seperate turn and brake lights, you will have to have sockets spliced in for the turn and reverse bulbs

I think what they are saying is that in order for a '92-'95 to use those tail light they would need the AAS bumper for a '96-'98 model.
It's like if you put Sonoma headlights on a S10 you need the GMC bumper as well.

how did you know that analagy(sp) would work.
but why doest TYC, APC, eurolite or some one just make tail to fit the 92-95 is all i am sayin.
but the S10 and S15 are sort of the same, but they are the same years. you cant put 82-93 s10 tails on a 94+ s10. different years same goes for the blazer and jimmy

No demand. They'd be lucky to sell 10 pairs. Tooling would cost much more, I can't blame them for not wanting to take such a loss.

Ok try this on for size...
It's like swapping out the S10 '94-'97 headlights for a '98+.
Not only do the lights have to be changed but so does the grill too. And the bumper unless you want to keep the directionals there also.
off topic Is your signature ST's 'Instatutionalized'?

Also off-topic... I took lessons for 5 years with the same guy that taught Jimmy DeGrasso... one of ST's drummers over the years.

yea your right. the funny part is every one who has an s10 wants s15 lights and everyone with an s15 wants s10 lights  or so i have seen.
so it comes down to this, if he wants the 96-98 tails on a 93 GA he needs to buy AAS's 96-98 rear bumper to put on the 93. will that bolt up?
.....and yes john, that is my sig :) you are the only one to have said ANYTHING about it.
