We have gotten reports of bogus emails being sent to various members from accounts that look like they belong to the Grand Am Owners Club. Accounts like 'info@gaownersclub.com', 'register@gaownersclub.com', 'mail@gaownersclub.com', etc. These are bogus accounts. We do NOT send out "Security Measure", "Account Suspended" or "Mail Limitation" emails to anyone, nor do we send out bulk emails (unless absolutely necessary) to anyone.

The files attached with these emails contain a ".zip" extension (some of the attached files will state: "Document.zip", "email-details.zip", "new-password.zip" or "Email.zip" - please do NOT open them...just DELETE them. They are a virus.

"webmaster@gaownersclub.com" and "privacy@gaownersclub.com" are valid accounts, but again...we do NOT send out emails with file attachments. Please do NOT open the emails with these addresses that have files attached to them.

The emails are randomly generated, and are not being sent by our server. They are simply disguised to look like they are being sent by us.

It is always a good idea to scan your mail for viruses. As well, it is general good practise to not open ANY email attachements unles you are expecting them, and know both what they are, and who sent them.

Contact the techs at the server company. I recall telling you about this happening on our site and they had to upgrade the spam filter. We don't get any now. :)
