I was aware that RSM Racing had a CF hood for the 99+ GA but they now have CF hood for the 96-98 Grand Am's. Price is pretty decent too. Might have to get me one,16lbs. I'll of course paint it or maybe put some kind of design on it to show some CF

Follow the bulge if you know what I mean. Paint the lower part body and leave the risen part CF (neo old skool rod in a way)

thats a good idea. I was trying to think of a design right after I posted that and couldn't come up with anything without sticking some kind of graphic on there, which I don't want any graphics. Might have to do a photoshop of that:cool:

I think the coolest CF hood I've seen was the one where some guy painted his hood with all the ricer stickers on it .. then pealed the stickers off and it was all the designs in CF. I think there were also a couple other spots he left CF. Not a big fan of stickers.. but they wern't really stickers if its painted on.

id get a CF hood if:
it wasnt $$$$$$$$$
worked with stock latch and hinges and prop rod
was significantly lighter (which I see it is!)
I could find a place loclaly that would paint it to match my car. (just the top surface, the surface that faces the engine doesnt need to be painted)

Ive seen CF hoods done like that before. Its actuall pretty cool. I think you need the outline type stickers, don't think the solid die-cut ones would work

the cheap ones don't come with the latches, the more expensive ones will have them rivited in,which is best then some, most will mold them in with some fiberglass with a few layers.
