more shaving

ok, so i was thinking the other day while driving, i have shaved door handels and locks. Why the hell do i need my powere lock switches? They are unplugged and the the locking rod in the door is gone. so i went to shave them. I am still working on the driver side but here are some pics of the passenger side. I am also posting a pic of my fog/dimmer switch too. One of the first interiro mods i did was shave that groove that went around it.

kick ass. You still need to shave the body line/groove dealy on the outside of the doors; but the removal fo the power lock buttons is pretty cool :thumbup:

thanks man, yea that is my summer project :lol: i need to get doors first and i can work on it now. i want to do it with the doors off the car.

oh and the antina project is around the corner as well :D

Looking good, but now it looks too bare. I'd faberglass it in with the rest of the door handle, or make a embossed arrowhead there or something.

BTW, your only like the second 99+ GA I've seen with manual windows.

dude my on friend said the same thing. to bare and an arrowhead would be cool. and just fiber glass the whole door. then make custom speak housings and stuff. all over that little piece. were you talking to him??? :lol: the only problem i see with the arrowhead is that the driverside and passenger sides are differet.

a buddy of mine had a 4 door with manual but decided to rear end a mini van and totaled it

i got them crank from stylin concepts :lol:

looking sweet Mike....Id put in an Arrowhead in that lock spot and put some LEDs under it to make it glow at night.Won't have to bother redoing the whole door to get rid of it

Mike, I think we need to make you all new fiberglass door panels :) I'll see if I can photoshop somethin tonight. BTW, tomorrow's my BDay, which bar the celebration will be at is still up in the air though.

i dont knaow about the whole door, but was thinking the part where it is vinyled and have it painted to match the car but air brush flames going up it

You should put some type of nickname or something or if you named your car in embossed in the driver side and then maybe the pontiac arrow in the passanger side

Hey, Mike. Maybe you could use the blank door panels for aux switches. You would have to search around for some switches and indicator lights that would look good. Ordinary toggles wouldn't do in that spot.

I had blank panels on the rear doors of my four door and bought dummy power window switch panels from ebay.

I also like the vinyl wrap idea so it would blend in more. You could use the vinyl from the door inserts when you glass them.

If anyone is interested in buying the window cranks, I found them a little cheaper from the manufacturer.

Mike I own a flux core MIG welder also, but mine has provisions to use gas too. A friend of mine is supposed to be getting me a tank when I start my truck so I can get smoother welds. IIRC, he owns a arc welder which I have never really been that great with.

yea mine has an adapter for gas as well. i just nned to pick up the hoses, tank and all that stuff.

You've done all the other work. It wouldn't be too hard to install some power windows ya know. I'd do it if I had manual. Did it to a white 94 that has manual. Just put a plastic cap in the hole. Installed the regulater and ran the wires to the fuse relay. Theres already a slot that says PWR WDO or something like that.

thats not a bad i dea. i do have a bad back and leaning over to roll the window down is a pain. but my boys GA the window motor is junk. his window wont stay up and is out of warreny. so i dont know.i kne the power windoew are problems in GA's

Looking good! If I had done tha tna dhad a garage door opener or remote for my stereo I would have molded that into the panel. Or maybe for those that have alot of money to blow hardwire a cell phone there with it all molded in showing the disply screen and buttons only. Mic the sunvisor and have it run through the stereo with a optional jack for a ear peice. :D

As much as I love smooth appearance, I love when gadgets are hidden or built in/incorperated into the design. I am very much a guy that likes to believe that 'form follows function'.

BTW, I love how your GA is spoilerless. I always wanted a black 2 door GT without a spoiler and slammed to the ground.

Mike, honestly, your GA has got to be the smoothest, sexiest, hottest, greatest, GA I've -ever- seen in my life. I hope you keep the AED kit as well, that styling you have on your car makes it look almost like a fast-back. I think an SD hood -might- make it better, but honestly, its the hottest GA I've seen ever.

I just had an idea.. I wonder what your GA would look like with those rear opera windows covered by the gill-like trim.. (Like ppl put on new mustangs, and the old '67s) If you could custom-fab them, with the slots and all, that could look VERY cool!

yea my boy has the rk sport kit and has the wing on it. it looks good but he is thinking about shaving it cause he likes how mine looks :lol: i told him i want a clean sleek look to my car. so he wants to get that too. plus the rk sport rear bumper is longer than mine so he thinks his car will look longer with out the wing.

john just picture my car painted and bagged on the ground with no wing. its going to look sweet

:wow: thanks for the great compliments. i dont know if i would say its the greatest GA ever. there are a ton of GA on here that i am sure are equally, if not, more so impresssive. look at vanishing image's, peyman's and flatlines's just to name a few off the top of my head.

i was thinking of the SD hood, but also thinking of a hood off a completely different car.(john knows whats up) but if i do this i might get ostrisized(sd) out of the GA comunity. i dont want that to happen. i love it here to much

Yea, that Mustang style "loover" could look real nice on there, especially if it had the slots cut in it. I would say the SC/T hood is nice, but it just doesnt quite flow the smooth lines of your car that much.. SD would be better than SC/T for you, IMO, but I'm sure whatever you have in mind would be great.
