Well Ive got 225/40/18's so with 35's your definately going to clear with 16's. that middle number isn't width anyways, its the sidewall height. I belive the first # 225 is the tread width.

To clarify, the middle number is the sidewall height ratio. It's the percentage of the width of the tyre. E.g. A 225/50-16 tyre has a 225mm width with a sidewall that is 50% as tall as the tyre is wide, with a 16" diameter.

yea, 235 even clear stock 4th gen suspension and fenderwalls - id say any higher than that and you would start hitting things. but with a 235 width tire, id say get a 45 series tire or lower for the corret amount of sidewall (trying o keep your wheel diameter the same as stock or slightly lower is the key when enlraging tire sizes

get too wide, you'll start rubbing when turning the wheel from side to side, run into that sometimes at the dealership. People bring in cars with aftermarket wheels and we go to drive them for some kind of suspension problems and we make turns and can't make them fully because they don't get tires/wheels that fit right

A 235/45R 17 works perfectly, even lowered with eibach springs. I would recommend them as you can barely break them loose without a few power mods. I love the extra traction

My car, which is a 97, can turn lock to lock with 215 wide tires on it; however, ive never tried 225s

235/45 17 working fine for me. Thinking of going to 245/40 17 next time I need tires.

It will fit on the rim but you wont want it on the car.
I can fit a 295 onto a 7" rim, doesnt mean it's right.
