Alright, I bought a HID kit from xtralights.com for my '99. It's the 9007 kit with the hi/low ballast. Got the ballast and ignitor mounted nicely, not a problem. Well, after spending a few hours trying to figure out the wiring for the thing, I figured I need to ask some people who might know (and n-body.net is lacking in threads on this topic :D ), and can't seem to find anything really helpful searching here . . .
Alright, I've got 3 wires from the ballasts that connect to the factory bulb connectors. One black (-), one white (low +), and one green (high +). Does anyone know how to properly wire these things up so that I will have both use of low and high beams, and without the BCM kicking the 'service vehicle soon' light as soon as the headlights are turned on or the parking brake is released, and not keep the high-beam dash indicator on steady? I've been able to get just the low end to light, or just the high to light, but not both, and usually with one of the aforementioned dash lights on. From what I can tell, it would seem that the factory systen has one power feed, and two grounds that appear to be controlled by the BCM (what brilliant engineer figured the system needed to be reverse of convetional :???: ??). Any help is highly appreciated.
