does anyone know of any component sets thats will allow tthe tweeter to go in the door pillar with little modification?

i can easily do the larger tweeter in there, but i would like to not have to cut the thing, or as little as pissible

it would be nice to find a set that would slip in real easily, the stock tweeters are really small

You mean a tweeter to fit in the factory tweeter sail panel?

On the 99+ I think you have to go .75" or lower or at least find someway to secure the tweeter to the grille. I'm not 100% sure about that but from what I remember about the 99+ the tweet was smaller than before... The 96-98 had a 1" opening. Still I had to drill mine out myself when I went to a Focal set as the tweeter is like 1.5"...

my 96gt doesn't have tweeter mounts... my guess is it's an upgraded option that you can choose if you wish to or not. but yea i just cut out holes with a 1" hole drill bit used for wood. works just as well on plastic....

if you do drill the holes one thing you can go is get some wire mesh... possibly speaker grill from somewhere's... and then fiberglass it to the plastic and paint over it. you don't need the fiberglass cloth you can just use the fiberglass resin as a type of bondo to the mesh and the plastic. then bondo over that with a light coat and paint it making sure to mask off the speaker grill unless you want that painted to match as well. in which case you need to thin the paint a lil bit more so it will seep through the holes and not clog them.
