Anyone ever heard of this magazine? Theres was an AED GA in there at one time i guess. He's in my car club, i called him and he said he didnt even know about it being in a magazine and had never heard of Hi Beam. I would appreciate any help, and so would he, its kind of weird to have your car in a magazine and not even know about it.:???:

No, only if they record your voice in most areas. That is if it is a public place. You can't put a camera in someone bathroom.

Not to harp on you Chris, but verytime someones car get some pub people always have to ask about "is there a law......" or "did they have permission......" and that just makes no sense to me. Who the hell are we to think that we are being violated in some way because one of our POS cars ends up in a mag or on some website without our being consulted or payed off. Be flattered or thankful for cryin' out loud.
Or better yet, when one of you guys that do all the worrying gets a car on a website or even some ink in a mag, persue it. That way you can tell everyone the reason why they can put a picture of any car they want on thier site or magazine. Better yet, take them to court. See what that gets ya.

I more or less agree.

But the only time I would get pissed off is if some dirtbag was making money off it. Say they took it from my site and used it on ebay or claimed that their crappy product was what is pictured on my car when it really isn't.
In taht case they can either remove the image or cut me a check.

I hate it when people take pictures of my stuff and use it to their benefit without asking first. If they ask, I have never said no, but it would be common courtoisy to ask. Last year I had a real estate agent take pictures of our place (when it was for sale), and he still uses those interior pictures to sell other condos in the same unit. No, there is nothing I can do because I didn't make him sign a limited use consent form. But it does piss me off.

Now, if it is the public domain, like my car in a parking lot, and they take pictures of the exterior that is OK by me. But, when people start to take pictures of the interior of my car, which I consider out of the public domain, that is not OK. Same story with my new home. If they take a picture of the outside, and don't use it for advertising or other reasons like that, I am OK with it. However, if they take pictures of the inside without my consent (like through the windows), then I am not OK with that.

ps. the name of the magazine is also the name of a porno magazine, or so my friend told me!:D :D

yes stealing your pictures for advertising purposes is illegal. However, if someone takes a pic of your car at a car show just to post a pic of it, there is no law against it. thats like taking your car to sema and gettign pissed to find pic's of it in a mag. Its exciting when you find your car has been chosen to be placed in any publication. Free publicity on the car. Its just like you taking a pic of a RICER and posting it on here for everyone to mke fun of. Same shit.

HighBeams is basically the sport compact equivilant of Tailgate. Two of my favorite magazines :D

Actually the president of a club in my area works for Tailgate and Highbeams as an editor or photographer.

BTW, I've never heard of either of these magazines. Who is the publishing company?

If you have pics of your ride on the net (or anywhere else for that matter) and they aren't copy protected it's fair game, advertising or not. (I think?)

There's only like 2 places that sell it in my area, Wegmans (a super sized supermarket) and a local supermarket called Mr. Z's

www.highbeamsmag.com is their site. If your offended by more than half naked girls posing on hot cars (for highbeams and Trucks for tailgate) I suggest you avoid it.

www.tailgatemag.com is Tailgates site. They don't usually have many pics on line, but if you pick up a mag you get an access code to look as some pics.

I also believe they have subscription form on these sites for the mags too.
