If I were to disconnect the battery, would this reset the change oil life reading?

I know it does a number of engine revolutions and takes load and throttle application into consideration, it doesn't have some sensor to chemically analyse the oil.

I do know how to reset the light the right way fyi... I changed oil about 1500 miles ago, and don't need it resetting on me, thus putting me 1500 miles past what the light would otherwise come on (I change it ASAP after it glows).

thanks,
Matt

I don't think that disconnecting the battery will reset it unless the battery it out for weeks. They use a capacitor to trickle volts to the computer to preserve the settings. You can gauge your next oil change by how many miles between changes you have done in the past (if you write that stuff down).

My last one I was over 7000miles and 6 months and I was like, I don't care what it says I'm changing it anyways, so I reset it. I did unplug the computer to reset it with the CAI.

After that it's 5000 or light, whichever is first.
