i recently purchased a Kenwood in dash 7 inch monitor ( Kenwood KVT- M700) the unit doesnt have a slot to play cds or dvds so i think i might put a ps2 in my car what do you guys think? Where should i put it? I was thinking about the glove box. Does anyone know how to hook up a ps2 in a car? thanks for the help

I'd buy one of those small ones and put it in the arm rest so you can change cd's without reaching and still have room beside it for cd's/games etc.
To hook it up you need a DC-AC power inverter (or converter, not sure which). then you just plug the PS2 into the inverter and hook the video cable to your screen and your audio cable to your deck through, hopefully, and aux input in an aftermarket deck. if you don't have an aftermaket deck with aux inputs reply back.

Second thought, it might not fit. Where is the moniter going? And if your felling randy, the install if you did it yourself would cost 20 bucks tops.
Is that 75 bucks materials plus labour?

i think that is just labor the monitor is going in the facotory cd player spot (The will only take one din) in might try to put another cd player in the other din. i dont know i dont have a ps2 yet so i'm not sure if it will fit ( more of a XBOX fan) but i plan to buy one of the smaller ones

May also want to keep in mind that the slim PS2's are "always on" and do not have a sliding tray for the games/cds.. but. have a lid that flips up... so.. allow the extra room for that.

Totally forgot about that, glove box seems like the only place then. But it would be sick to get a 360 in your car.

Well in order to convert your old school PS2 to run directly on 12v, you will void the warranty because you haveto open the case. Its kinda hard to explain setp by step, but you have to remove the power supply or AC to DC converter. Its basically a circuit board where the power switch (on the back of the PS2) plugs into. There will be 4 pins about 1" long two of them are + the other 2 are - (it should be marked on the corresponding circuit board the polarity of each. Solder wire onto the + and - pins, route that through the existing circuit boards and carefully reassemble the PS2.
If you did everything right, yourall set to run it directly off 12v. I have mine hooked to the ignition with a switch so I can turn it on and off. also keep in mind that once you do this, it'll probablynever go back to original condition where w=you can plug it into your house.

Sorry for the delay.
Mine only has a "reset" button. It doesn't have the I/O switch like the original models. Now, granted, I didn't take the time to read any instructions, so, I could be doing something wrong, but...I have to unplug the machine to turn it off. I have tried holding down the reset button for a few seconds.. and.. it did nothing as well.
Good luck!
