I've got an interesting problem that I need to clean up. My camshaft seal has worked itself out and is dripping oil onto the power steering belt which is in turn shooting it onto everything else in the engine compartment, do I just spend days in there scrubbing with windex and a paper towel???

At Autozone or any other parts store, buy a can of Gunk engine cleaner. That should clean it up pretty good. To shine stuff up, try CD2, I've heard good stuff about it! I have some sitting at home, just never have tried it!

remeber after washing it to run the eggin to let it dry. in this weather its not good for water to be or sit under the hood

yeah let the water dry or dry it by hand as much as you can. It could crack your block and hoses and all kinda things, not cool.

If you want a really clean engine, I got myself a portable steam cleaner from Sears for $99 USD. It will heat up to 240 degrees and Lord does it ever work!

You can check it out by going to www.sears.com and put "steam" in the search box. It will come right up!

yes I steam my engine compartment. It works real well. You can also buy simple green, autozone engine degreaser. Most any thing works the greased lightning ect.

Your best bet should be to get a new seal first before your situation gets worse than it is.

duh!

actually, I just got it back from my mechanic last night, it took him most of friday evening, Saturday morning and some of the afternoon to do it, he even had to go into the dealership and get his tools to work on it. So this week I'm gonna start cleaning
