3400 to 3800

My friend has a GA with the 3400. Is the 3800 the same engine with more bore and/or stroke. I was thinking if it was she convert it into a 3800 and maybe put on a supercharger like the GTP. She has the money so it wouldn't be a problem.

Nope, the 3800 is a 90 degree V6. The 3400 is a 60 degree V6. They don't share anything....except maybe oil filters....

I think it was Jason from GMpower doing the 3800 SC swap. Not really sure what became of it though.... :???:

If you're willing to spend that much money, why not get a supercharger on the 3400?

Jason updated it today and said they should have it up and running today. They had some computer problems but just got it reprogrammed. This was with a 93 3.3 tho which is also a 90*. StephensGA (sp?) on GMP did it on his old 2.4 and it costed him about $6500 for everything, custom half shafts alone were $1900. Another person on GMPT was thinking about it and got quoted for $4500 for it and that didnt even include the half-shafts, computer stuff, and tranny
