Hi, my fiance's 01 Grand Am's door has been squeaking for quite some time. Ive been meaning to get some graphite and lube it up.
The other night, I went to close the door, and it didnt want to close. I slammed it and it closed. The next day, my fiance started experiencing the same problem. Then she mentioned to me that it would no longer stay open. It wasnted to swing back closed. I checked it out, and the door stop doesnt seem to work anymore. Also, the squeak is gone.
Now, normally, something simple like this wouldnt bother me, but shes had it since new, and I dont want to let something minor like this go. Cause I know if I let one thing go, Im gonna let another thing go, and the little quirks will keep on piling up. Next thing Ill know, the car will be a big P.O.S., and I dont want that to happen.
So, does anybody know what broke or came loose inside the door to cause this? I dont know if an exploded diagram exists, but if one does, that would most certainly help.
