Would those who plan on doing the track be willing to pay $70 per car to have it all to ourselves vs $35 sharing it with some other cars?

While i'd like to vote yes, im not gonna vote since my car wont be there and i wont be racing, but i think it would be awsome to see the track to ourselves.
Edit: what would the price be for those of us not racing and how long will we be there?

I'm not really big on drag racing. $70 would be too much for me, $35 is still high (for me) but do-able.
I'm all in for an auto cross.

I would, but what's the minimum number of cars? Then what about those just coming to spectate? Price wise I mean..

We need a min of 50 cars. I'm not sure what it would be for those not racing. But I can find out tomorrow. I sure we could work something out with the track for spectators. I post some info tomorrow.

As much as I like the track I can think of a large number of things I'd rather do with 70$.
Especially since I don't plan on running anyway...
If there's anything we can do to replace some track personel (and make it cheaper) I'm all for it though.

I think last year wasn't all that bad for runs, and we have started getting the recognition at the track that we need. I think $70 is overkill, but I won't be running my car if I end up bringing the GA.

nope, 70 is to much.. considering we can do it for 35, Frankly, I don't want to put my baby thru THAT many runs.

what your also going to have to consider is the fact that for $70 to buy the track will be just us. this would double the runs we have. and not that many people are going to want to run there cars more than 3-4 times. cars will start to over heat, and possible problems might occur with running time after time. im still down with trying to get the dyno going, and making the show and shine bigger. make that more the part of it...

I agree with jay, renting the track will most likely even more then double our amount of runs. I dont think people are going to want to run their cars that often.

ah gosh...
well, I don't even think I'll be able to make it this year....
At first I was like yeah! I'd do it, then I am thinking... $70 is quite a bit... double the regular fee, while I don't think it is too much, I think it is a fair price considering we would have the track to ourself, the truth is, I drive a stock Cadillac. There is no tuning to be done, no computer to program, no manual trans to find the right RPM for each gear etc... basically, 3 or 4 runs and I am pretty much as fast as I'll get, and then it starts to get repetative....
Kinda like how I went to LVD on Wednesday night with the '79 DeVille, there was hardly any people there, I got 5 runs in and there was STILL an hour left (2 more runs?) but I simply left, I flet i got my monies worth, the car wasn't going to magically get faster and I wanted to get home.
I think thats how alot of people feel...
still though, with a car club, if we had the whole day there, 10 hours or so, that would be cool to maybe combine the show n shine and track day.... or have a mini show have it all set up, the tents, maybe some music or something. If one of those portable dyno things could be rented, that would be cool too, I have seen that done before.... but all that would add even more cost to the $70.
For the reason that I don't think I'll be able to make it there, and I am still on the fence about the price, I am not voting. I will say that if I did make it, I would be willing to pay the $70, but if it was regular day, then I would be fine with that.
On second thought, if I did make it (meaning it lines, atleast for a couple days up with my 11 day Spring or Summer break, I would have my Oldsmobile... I already raced that, I don't mind racing it again, but 4 runs and I think that would be more the enough, so in my case, renting it for the day would do me no good.

Well said. I agree with pretty much everyone else on here....albany 2005 track day wasn't bad....and I'd say we got a fair amount of runs in...plus on top of that it was cool to see the other cars...like the dragster GA for example, and that Pinto I think it was.....that had a 454 shoe-horned in it.....anyone remember that thing? Was a little white car?....and was running 8's and 9's if I remember correctly....anyway if we rent the track all to ourselves...yeah that would be awesome....but puts alot of pressure on the people trying to make it happen, and knocks out the possibility of seeing things like that pinto...which gave us all a good laugh at first, followed by a DAMN when it ran 8's.....just my 2 cents.

Voted yes. I have no problem with paying a bit more.
Although... I'm not sure we'll get 50 cars. That being the case, I don't mind sharing the track. Especially if it isn't crowded like Albany 05... I got at least a dozen runs in, and I was able to hot-lap a couple times.

We will not be renting the track. They are going to accomodate us by allowing us to have our own lanes again.

Dam Gus I read that and I almost felt you were talking about me, I feel the same exact way. With my ass, my audio, and my rims, my car isnt gonna run that well but I want to run it once maybe twice just to see what it can do.
