Rotor Painting Question

Getting ready to put my new brakes on. Painting the centers black to avoid rust, but my question is can I paint the edges too? I noticed on my current rotors the edges are all rusted up too.

ive never painted the edges i always over spray and hit the surface :)

Don't do it, it will effect the heat dissapaiting properties of the rotor.

i would have to agree...even if u can find a paint that will hold up to the heat that the rotor would put on..maybe thye high temp like engine paint or whatever, but it would make the rotor hold the heat in longer..which is bad

Yeah, I remembered reading something about the heat a little while back but forgot where it was. Thanks =)

I would not risk trying to paint on the edge. If you get paint on the rotor face the pad is going to pick it up & the paint will glaze onto the pad.
