Ok, Ill make this short. Theres a crack in a bumper, before bondo what do you use to in the crack to hold the two sides of it together? I'm thinking some sort of epoxy or somthing. Anyone know exactly what to do?

First, if you have exposed raw plastic was it with a mild soap and water. The reason why is there are mold release agent in the plastic, they usually stay ther for ever.
next after thouruoghly dry...from the backside, skore the plastick with 80 grit sandpaper. Drill a few holes about 1/2 inch apart***but do not drill through the plastic all the way*** this is so the fiberglass has something to work into.
premix resin and apply a thin coat of resin, alow to set(dry) for about 2 min then apply the fiberglass mat, reaply resin if the mat does not soak up and become completetl wet, clamp in place and allow to dry. If you clamp it good and aligned you will need very little filler, and maybe only touch up paint.
for like new look sand out at least 4 inches from either side of the crack and lightly fill with body filler, and paint. Make sure you BLEND the color, because new paint rarely maches old so fade it into the old and clear the whole bumper after applying color, (clear does not blend easy, if at all)

Depends on what the cover is made of. there are products out there to bond all types of covers together, that would be the way to go. How bad is the crack? complete tear? any pictures?

Is it in just an open area or is it at the edge of the cover?
If you can, look on the inside of the cover and see if it says what materal it is made of, should say something. If you can get me that info, i can get you the product you need to fix it.
